Our verdict
Best for traders who want a one-time fee with no activation fee, news trading and a choice of payout styles: larger caps on Standard, no daily loss limit on Reserve or daily payouts on Express. Check which model your rules come from, since daily loss limits, consistency rules and payout caps all differ, and accounts bought before July 6, 2026 follow older rules.
Best for
- ✓Traders who want no activation fee and no monthly subscription
- ✓News traders: news trading is allowed on evaluations and funded accounts
- ✓Traders who copy their own trades, including from accounts at other firms
Not ideal for
- ✕Traders who use bots or fully automated systems, which are prohibited
- ✕Traders who need more than 5 funded accounts at once
- ✕Micro-scalpers: under 50% of profit may come from trades held less than 10 seconds

How Blue Guardian Futures works
Blue Guardian Futures is the futures program of Blue Guardian, which also runs forex and CFD challenges. Every account is a one-time purchase with no monthly fee and no activation fee, every account uses an end-of-day trailing drawdown, and funded traders keep 90%. There are four models:
| Standard | Reserve | Express | Direct | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Evaluation | One phase, 6% target | One phase, 6% target | One phase, 6% target | None |
| Evaluation consistency | None | 50% (40% add-on) | 40% | — |
| Funded consistency | 40% | None | None | 20% |
| Daily loss limit | Yes (none on 25K) | Optional | Yes (none on 25K eval) | Yes |
| Payouts | Every 3 days | After 5 winning days | Daily | At profit goals |
| List price, 25K–150K | $154–$424 | From $72 | From $86 | From $350 |
There is no time limit on any evaluation, and you can pass in as little as one day on Standard. Prices depend on the options chosen at checkout, and Blue Guardian frequently runs sitewide discount codes and bundle discounts.
Blue Guardian Futures rules
Blue Guardian Futures Standard rules
| Account | Profit target | Max drawdown (EOD) | Daily loss limit | Max contracts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25K | $1,500 | $1,000 | None | 1 mini / 10 micros |
| $50K | $3,000 | $2,000 | $1,000 | 4 minis / 40 micros |
| $100K | $6,000 | $3,500 | $2,000 | 8 minis / 80 micros |
| $150K | $9,000 | $5,000 | $3,000 | 12 minis / 120 micros |
The daily loss limit on Standard is 2% of the starting balance and is a soft breach: positions close and the account is disabled until the next trading day. Standard has no consistency rule in the evaluation, keeps the same contract limit when funded, and adds a 40% consistency rule on funded accounts.
Blue Guardian Futures 50K daily loss limit
The 50K daily loss limit is one of the most searched Blue Guardian rules, and it depends on the model and when you bought the account:
| 50K account | Daily loss limit | Breach type |
|---|---|---|
| Standard (current) | $1,000 | Soft |
| Express (current) | $1,000 | Soft |
| Reserve (current) | None, or $1,200 if chosen at checkout | Soft |
| Direct (bought since July 21, 2026) | $1,250 | Soft |
| Legacy Standard (bought before July 6, 2026) | $1,250 | Hard |
The $1,250 limit that many traders quote belongs to the legacy Standard plan, where hitting it closed the account for good. On every current model the limit is a soft breach.
Blue Guardian Futures drawdown rules
Every account uses an end-of-day trailing drawdown: it rises with your highest closing balance, ignores open profit during the session and never moves down. On funded accounts it locks at your starting balance plus $100 ($50,100 on 50K) once you build that cushion, and it also locks there after any payout. On Reserve evaluations the drawdown keeps trailing until you pass. See our trailing drawdown guide for how end-of-day and intraday drawdowns differ.
Trading hours, news and other rules
- Trading hours: 6:00 PM to 4:10 PM ET. Open trades close automatically at 4:10 PM ET without breaching the account.
- News trading is allowed on evaluations and funded accounts.
- Micro-scalping: less than 50% of your profit may come from trades held under 10 seconds.
- No bots or full automation; semi-automated tools are allowed only if you actively manage the trades.
- Copy trading is allowed between accounts you own, including at other firms; copying other traders or signals is not. Hedging across accounts is prohibited.
- Up to 5 funded accounts at once; evaluations are unlimited.
Blue Guardian Futures payout rules
All payouts are 90/10, paid via Rise or crypto, with a $500 minimum on Standard. Blue Guardian says eligible payouts are processed within 24 business hours.
| Model | When you can request | Cap per payout (50K) |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 3 days after your first trade, above the buffer ($52,100 on 50K) | $2,500 first, $3,000 after |
| Reserve | After 5 winning days of $150+ (50K) | 50% of profit, up to $2,000 |
| Express | Daily, above the buffer | $1,100 per day |
| Direct | After each profit goal ($3,000 first, then $2,000 on 50K) with 20% consistency | $2,000 (payouts 1–3), $2,500 after |
Standard caps by size are $1,500/$2,000 (25K), $2,500/$3,000 (50K), $3,000/$3,500 (100K) and $4,000/$4,500 (150K) for the first and later payouts. If a Standard funded account is breached before its first payout, you can reactivate it up to twice within 30 days ($450–$1,200) instead of taking a new evaluation.
Blue Guardian Futures live account
Live accounts trade real capital through Blue Guardian's partner brokerage and cannot be bought. Reaching payout 5 on a funded account, large lifetime payouts or exceptional performance places you in a Live Review Pool, and the Risk Team decides who moves to live. Live traders get daily payouts and no consistency requirement.
Is Blue Guardian Futures legit?
Blue Guardian is led by founder and CEO Sean Bainton. Its simulated trading platforms are provided by Blue Guardian Limited (Saint Lucia), with operating entities in Dubai, UAE. Blue Guardian Futures publishes its rules, including legacy rules for older accounts, in a dedicated futures help center, which we used for this review. Evaluation and funded accounts are simulated until a trader is promoted to live.
