Our verdict

Best for traders who want to pass fast and run many accounts: one-day passes, up to 20 funded accounts and 100% of approved sim payouts. Plan around the 30-day limit with no resets, the 50% consistency rule and payout caps once funded, and the six-payout limit per account.

Best for

  • ✓Traders who can hit the profit target quickly (no minimum days and no evaluation consistency rule)
  • ✓Traders who want to run many funded accounts, up to 20 at once
  • ✓Traders who want to choose between an end-of-day and an intraday trailing drawdown

Not ideal for

  • ✕Traders who need more than 30 days to pass (there are no resets or extensions)
  • ✕Traders who rely on bots or automated strategies, which Apex does not allow
  • ✕Traders who want large payouts from one account: each PA pays out at most six times, with a cap per payout

Apex Trader Funding is an Austin, Texas futures prop firm founded in 2021. Since March 1, 2026 its evaluations are one-time purchases with 30 days to pass, an end-of-day or intraday trailing drawdown and no consistency rule. Pass and you pay an activation fee for a simulated Performance Account that pays 100% of approved payouts, up to six per account.

  • EOD evaluation list prices before coupons; Apex sells most evaluations with a sitewide discount. Intraday Trail evaluations cost $167, $249, $790 or $1,190 with the same targets and no daily loss limit. Activation fees are $109–$159 (EOD) and $89–$149 (Intraday); No Activation Fee versions cost more up front. No resets: a failed or expired evaluation must be bought again.
  • Activation fee after passing: $89–$159.
  • Consistency rule: No consistency rule in the evaluation. In the Performance Account, to request a payout your largest profitable day must be less than 50% of net profit since the last approved payout (best day ÷ 0.5 = profit needed).
  • Current public promo SAVENOW: 90% off all evaluations, Apex's own sitewide coupon, until October 29, 2026 (checked October 27, 2026). See all prop firm discount codes.

How Apex Trader Funding works

Apex relaunched its program on March 1, 2026. New evaluations are one-time purchases with 30 calendar days to pass, and you pick one of two drawdown types:

EOD TrailIntraday Trail
DrawdownEnd-of-day trailingReal-time trailing (includes open profit)
Evaluation daily loss limitYes (pauses trading)None
List price, 25K–150K$490–$2,190$167–$1,190
Activation fee after passing$109–$159$89–$149

Both types also come in a No Activation Fee version that costs more up front. Apex sells most evaluations with a sitewide coupon, so few traders pay list price (see the coupon note below).

The path has three stages: pass the Evaluation, pay the activation fee within 7 days to open a simulated Performance Account (PA) that pays 100% of approved payouts, and, by invitation only, move to Apex Live with real capital and a 90/10 split.

Accounts bought before March 1, 2026 are Legacy accounts with their own rules and recurring billing. Apex occasionally brings Legacy evaluations back as a limited-time offer. This review covers the current EOD and Intraday products.

Apex Trader Funding evaluation rules

$25K$1,500$1,000$5004 minis / 40 micros
$50K$3,000$2,000$1,0006 minis / 60 micros
$100K$6,000$3,000$1,5008 minis / 80 micros
$150K$9,000$4,000$2,00012 minis / 120 micros

To pass you only need to reach the profit target without touching the drawdown. There are no minimum trading days and no consistency rule in the evaluation, so you can pass in one day. The catch is time: the evaluation expires after 30 calendar days, weekends included, with no resets and no extensions. A failed or expired evaluation has to be bought again.

Apex Trader Funding drawdown rules

  • EOD Trail: the threshold is set once a day from your closing balance and enforced during the next session. Touching it at any moment, including on open losses, fails the account.
  • Intraday Trail: the threshold follows your highest balance in real time, including unrealized profit, and never moves down. In the PA it stops trailing once your profit reaches the drawdown amount plus $100.

See our trailing drawdown guide for how the two types differ in practice.

Performance Account scaling and daily loss limit

Once funded, your contract limit and daily loss limit grow in tiers set from your closing balance each day. Micros count 10 to 1, and orders above your limit are simply rejected.

50K PA profitMax contractsDaily loss limit
$0–$1,4992$1,000
$1,500–$2,9993$1,000
$3,000–$5,9994$2,000
$6,000+4$3,000

Full tiers by size: 25K reaches 2 contracts, 100K reaches 6 and 150K reaches 10. Hitting the daily loss limit pauses trading until the next session; it does not close the account.

Trading hours, news and other rules

  • No overnight positions: be flat before 4:59 PM ET; agricultural markets close earlier.
  • News trading is allowed with your normal strategy, but not "chasing" news or placing orders on both sides to gamble on the release.
  • No hedging of the same or correlated instruments, and no automation or algorithms.
  • Inactivity rule: each PA needs at least two days with $50+ net profit in every 30 days, or it is closed.
  • Up to 20 PAs at once; you may not share accounts, devices or trade copying with other traders.

Apex Trader Funding payout rules

Approved PA payouts are paid at 100%. To request one you need:

  • 5 qualifying trading days, each with a minimum profit: $100 on 25K; $250, $300 or $350 on 50K–150K EOD; $200, $250 or $300 on 50K–150K Intraday. Days do not have to be consecutive, so payouts can be weekly.
  • 50% consistency: your largest profitable day must be less than 50% of net profit since your last approved payout.
  • Safety net: your balance must stay above the drawdown plus $100, and the request must be at least $500. On 50K that means a balance of at least $52,600.

Each PA can receive at most six payouts, each capped by payout number. EOD PA caps:

Payout #$25K$50K$100K$150K
1$1,000$1,500$2,000$2,500
2$1,000$1,500$2,500$3,000
3$1,000$2,000$2,500$3,000
4$1,000$2,500$3,000$3,000
5$1,000$2,500$4,000$4,000
6$1,000$3,000$4,000$5,000

Intraday PAs have the same first and last caps, with slightly higher caps on some middle payouts for 50K–150K. After the sixth payout the PA closes, and you need a new evaluation to get another one.

Check your own numbers with our free Apex payout calculator: it applies the qualifying days, the 50% consistency rule, the safety net and the cap for each payout.

Apex Trader Funding coupon code

Apex runs its own sitewide coupon, and its help center tells traders without another code to enter SAVENOW at checkout. When we checked on October 25, 2026 it gave 90% off every evaluation. The discount changes from sale to sale, so check the price on the checkout page before you pay; Apex does not apply codes after payment and does not refund evaluations.

Apex Live

Apex can invite PA traders to its live program at any time, based on factors such as consistency, payouts and how quickly profits build. Moving live closes all sim accounts. Live accounts start at a $0 balance with a $3,000 end-of-day drawdown and 3 minis, pay 90/10, and allow daily payout requests above a $3,100 safety net. Traders can add up to five live accounts. Profitable sim balances are tracked in a "Bonus Vault", from which Apex may pay a monthly bonus based on live withdrawals.

Is Apex Trader Funding legit?

Apex Trader Funding was founded in 2021 by Darrell Martin and is based in Austin, Texas. Its homepage reports more than $692 million paid to traders since 2022, and its rules are published in a public help center, which we used for this review. Performance Accounts are simulated, while Apex Live trades real capital. Apex does not offer refunds on evaluations or activation fees.

Who Apex Trader Funding is for

Apex suits futures traders who pass quickly, want to scale across many accounts and like a one-time fee with frequent discounts. Choose EOD Trail if you want room for intraday swings and can live with a daily loss limit, and Intraday Trail if you want the cheapest entry and no daily loss limit. Look elsewhere if you need more than 30 days, trade with bots, or want unlimited payouts from a single funded account.

Apex Trader Funding platforms

Apex Trader Funding supports NinjaTrader, Tradovate, WealthCharts, with Rithmic and Tradovate data feeds. Approved trade copiers can be used to copy trades across your own accounts, but not between different traders.
