Our verdict
Best for traders who want a choice of risk levels in one firm, static drawdowns on the two-step plans and on-demand payouts processed within 2 business days, often at a deep discount. Read the fine print: funded Alpha Pro accounts can't hold over the weekend, every funded account has a 2–3% maximum loss per asset, half your profit must come from trades longer than 2 minutes, and only trade-management EAs are allowed.
Best for
- ✓Traders who want to pick their risk level: 6%, 8% or 10% targets and drawdowns
- ✓Swing traders on Alpha Swing or Alpha One, which allow weekend holding
- ✓Traders who want payouts on demand, paid within 2 business days
Not ideal for
- ✕Algorithmic traders: only trade-management EAs are allowed, and only on MT5
- ✕Scalpers: the average trade must last over 2 minutes
- ✕Traders who stack risk on one pair: funded accounts close if one asset's open loss reaches 2–3%

Alpha Capital Group rules
Alpha Pro rules
Alpha Pro is the standard two-step evaluation, in three risk levels. On the popular Alpha Pro 8%, you need 8% in Phase 1 and 5% in Phase 2, each over at least 3 trading days, with a 4% daily loss and an 8% static maximum loss. On a $100,000 account that means $8,000 and then $5,000 without equity ever touching $92,000. Pro 10% gives more room (10% maximum, 5% daily) for a higher Phase 1 target, and Pro 6% is the cheapest, with 6% targets in both phases, a 6% maximum and a 3% daily loss.
Funded Alpha Pro accounts cannot hold trades over the weekend; profits from weekend trades are removed. You choose on-demand payouts (40% best-day rule) or a payout every 14 days (no best-day rule) when you buy.
Alpha Swing and Alpha One
- Alpha Swing is built for longer holds: 10% then 5% targets, a 10% static maximum and 5% daily loss, 1:30 leverage, and weekend holding at every stage. News trading is allowed if a trade opened around a release lasts longer than 2 minutes. It only comes with on-demand payouts.
- Alpha One is a one-step evaluation that can be passed in one trading day, with a target of 6%, 10% or 12%. Its maximum loss (4%, 6% or 8%) trails your highest balance until it reaches the starting balance: on a 100K One 10% account the floor starts at $94,000, moves to $96,000 when your balance reaches $102,000, and stops at $100,000 once the balance hits $106,000. Weekend holding is allowed.
Our trailing drawdown guide explains how a trailing limit differs from a static one.
Alpha Direct (instant funding)
Alpha Direct is a Qualified account from day one, with a 90% split. In exchange it has the strictest rules: a 5% trailing maximum loss, a 3% daily loss, a 1% maximum loss per asset, no weekend holding, no EAs, and before each payout a 3% profit buffer, at least 1% more profit and a 15% best-day rule.
Daily loss explained
Depending on the plan, the daily loss is measured either from the starting balance of the day (Pro 8%, Pro 10%, Swing) or from the higher of balance and equity (Pro 6%, One, Direct), reset at 00:00 GMT+3. Alpha's own example for a 5% daily loss: with a $100,000 balance and $101,000 equity at the daily close, equity must stay above $95,000 the next day, since open profit from the day before does not raise the starting point.
Rules that apply on funded accounts
Three rules catch many Alpha traders out:
- Max risk per asset: if the combined open loss on one instrument reaches 3% (5K–25K), 2% (50K–200K) or 1% (Direct) of the account, the funded account is closed. Losing positions on the same asset are added together, and a new trade in the same direction within 10 minutes counts with the last one.
- 2-minute rule: the average duration of your trades must exceed 2 minutes, and at least half of your profit must come from trades longer than that. Breaking it in the evaluation means starting again; on a funded account the profit is removed.
- News: on funded Alpha Pro, One and Direct accounts you may not open or close trades, including stop losses and take profits, on affected instruments from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after high-impact news. Profits from such trades don't count; losses do. Evaluations have no news restriction.
Alpha Capital Group consistency rule
There is no consistency rule in any evaluation. Before an on-demand payout, your best day may be at most 40% of total profit (15% on Alpha Direct): with a $1,000 best day, you need $2,500 of profit before you can request. Alpha Pro's bi-weekly option has no best-day rule. Our consistency rule guide compares this with other firms.
Other Alpha Capital rules
- EAs: only trade-management tools (lot size, stop-loss, break-even) on MT5, enabled at checkout. Fully automated EAs and bots are banned.
- Copy trading is allowed from your own external accounts or between your Alpha accounts, after you register them with support. Copying other traders or signal groups is not.
- VPN and VPS are allowed only with a static dedicated IP and after telling support first.
- Lot limits: up to 40 lots on a 100K Pro, One or Direct account (20 on Swing).
- Inactivity: an account is closed for good after 30 days without trading.
- Allocation: unlimited evaluations, but funded accounts are capped at $400,000 per household and $300,000 on the same assets.
- Platforms: MT5, cTrader, DXtrade and TradeLocker. US residents can use DXtrade and TradeLocker (cTrader only for existing US clients).
Alpha Capital Group payout rules
| On demand | Bi-weekly (Alpha Pro only) | |
|---|---|---|
| When | Any time the conditions are met | Every 14 days, from 14 days after your first funded trade |
| Minimum | 2% profit on the account | $100 profit |
| Condition | Best day ≤ 40% of total profit | 5 trading days before the first payout |
| Split | 80% (90% with add-on) | 80% |
Close all trades before requesting. Alpha processes and pays performance fees within 2 business days, by Rise (which also pays out in crypto), Wise or bank transfer; the account stays locked until the payout is done. On your fourth payout Alpha adds a bonus of 0.25% of the account size. On Alpha One and Direct, leave a buffer once the trailing loss has locked at the starting balance, because withdrawing all profit would close the account.
Scaling: on Alpha Pro and Swing, every 10% gain lets you add 10% of the starting balance to the account when you withdraw, up to $2 million in total. Strong traders can also be invited to Alpha Prime, a separate London programme.
Is Alpha Capital Group legit?
Alpha Capital Group launched in November 2021 in London, founded by managing director George Kohler, and has grown into a group that includes Alpha Futures, the broker ACG Markets and Alpha Prime. It says it has paid $100 million in performance fees to traders in more than 140 countries. Its accounts are simulated and run on ACG Markets, which it describes as an FSA-regulated broker. We took every rule in this review from Alpha's website and help center; see the sources below.
Who Alpha Capital Group is for
Choose Alpha Pro if you want a classic two-step evaluation with a static maximum loss and can pick the risk level that suits you, and Alpha Swing if you hold trades over weekends. Alpha One is the fastest route for disciplined traders who accept a trailing loss, and Alpha Direct only suits very careful traders. Buy with one of Alpha's own codes, since discounts of 20–45% are common. Look elsewhere if you trade with fully automated EAs, scalp under 2 minutes, or stack large risk on one pair.
Alpha Capital Group platforms
Alpha Capital Group supports MetaTrader 5, cTrader, DXtrade, TradeLocker. Approved trade copiers can be used to copy trades across your own accounts, but not between different traders.
